Financial Business Consultant4Br Consulting Jan 2024 - PresentRemote- Developed thorough functional analysis (AS-IS) documents of the Commitment Control and General Ledger Modules in Oracle’s PeopleSoft ERP to inform the governmental agency about their current processes within these modules.- Delivered functional recommendations by analyzing and comparing workflows between the existing and updated version of the ERP software, focused on enhancing budget creation, budget control, and journal entries processes to optimize efficiency and limit paper transactions.- Supported the implementation of the updated version of the software by performing tests, analyzing workflows, and troubleshooting to address workflow anomalies and refine business processes for optimal functionality. This involved creating queries to access records from the database. -
Packaging Project EngineerBarry-Wehmiller Design Group May 2023 - Jun 2024Nanuet, New York, United States- Managed the installation, commissioning, and start-up of a Reverse Osmosis (RO) water purification process ensuring a consistent supply of good quality ingredient water for the plant’s three production lines and additional processing units. Increased plant’s ingredient water capacity by 38%.- Created detailed layout drawings for packaging lines using AutoCAD and developed Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for various projects to enhance project proposals and bid packages with accurate visual representations.- Coordinated onsite logistics for vendors and contractors to achieve on-time and under-budget completion of simultaneous projects related to equipment installation, construction activities, and process upgrades. -
Associate Packaging Engineer IiMondelēz International Nov 2021 - May 2023East Hanover, New Jersey, United States- Led the packaging development and commercialization of nine Sargento-Nabisco Cheese Crisps SKUs by creating and managing material specifications, collaborating with film suppliers for optimal sourcing of raw materials, and supporting commissioning and start-up of the packaging line.- Guided brand stakeholders in raw material selection by collecting and analyzing 200+ shelf-life data points for three different sustainable film structures contributing to the company’s sustainability goals and reducing raw material cost by 4.5%.- Identified an optimization opportunity within the specification system by correcting sizes of boxes for crackers packaging. Designed a new pallet pattern resulting in an 800-unit increase in truck load capacity.- Monitored and managed project financials by tracking purchase orders and invoices to maintain precise records of project budget and expenses facilitating timely requests for additional funds to avoid project delays and ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints. -
Associate Process EngineerMondelēz International Feb 2020 - Jan 2022East Hanover, New Jersey- Performed complex calculations using dimensionless numbers and linear regressions for 10 experiments to determine process variables affecting the quality of gum and recommend scale-up rules for gum mixing processes.- Implemented strategies to improve the encapsulation process by analyzing 500+ process data points to identify trends in production within different manufacturing plants and performing a gap analysis. Standardized process specifications across the plant network for improved consistency.- Developed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for lab-scale encapsulation process and quality measurement equipment to enhance clarity and improve operational efficiency for new product and process developers in the gum category. -
Undergraduate Researcher At Nanomaterials Processing LaboratoryUniversity Of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez Aug 2018 - Feb 2020Puerto RicoSynthesizing and characterizing copper sulfide (CuS) nanoparticles to test their cytotoxicity in cancer cells taking advantage of the near-infrared (NIR) light absorption of these particles. -
Research, Development, And Quality InternMondelēz International May 2019 - Aug 2019East Hanover, NjWorked in the Gum and Candy Lab to develop and optimize the encapsulation of high-intensity sweeteners. Created a design of experiment to see how different variables affect the encapsulations in chewing gum and also organized informal round tables to rate attributes of the different encapsulations in chewing gum. -
Undergraduate ResearcherPenn State University May 2018 - Aug 2018State College, Pennsylvania AreaSynthesized the ribonucleoprotein complex (RNP) used in the CRISPR-Cas9 technology to target DNA or RNA to use ultrafiltration and separate the RNP from the free RNA in the solution. The first tasks were to inoculate cells, transform plasmids, make competent cells, and synthesize the Cas9, gRNA, and RNP complex. Various techniques were used like micropipet handling, solution making, PCR, gel analysis, gel extraction, chromatography, NanoDrop, and fluorescence assay. After this, ultrafiltration was used to find the optimal parameters of the separation of the complex. Then, Bradford Assay was used to quantify protein. -
Undergraduate ResearcherUniversity Of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez May 2016 - Aug 2016Puerto RicoSynthesized chitosan beads using a solution of chitosan and acetic acid. Using a peristaltic pump, pour drop by drop the chitosan solution into a NaOH solution to form the beads. After pouring all the solution, rinse the beads with deionized water and poured them into a ferric chloride solution. Used the pH meter to monitor the acidity of solution. Leave the beads in contact with the ferric chloride solution with a stirrer for 24 hrs. After this, the beads were rinsed again and left in an oven to get dry. The purpose was to create many chitosan beads to later built a column which would remove arsenic from water.
