Significant projects included $2.7M storm drain improvements to install approx. 4000 LF of RCP, 110 LF x 42" bore jack, and 10,000 CY retention basin; .5 mile roadway widening to full width with right-of-way acquisition on 9 properties and utility relocation; a $21.2M Master Plan for the City of Bakersfield Animal Control Center including new facility construction and renovation; and a $650K add/alter to the Fleet Services Police Garage including structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design.

As a Civil Engineer within the Development Services Department, I acted as a Project Manager assisting contractors, architects/engineers, and developers navigate the City’s development processes. My goal was to issue permits efficiently while maintaining a high level of quality plan review. My technical role entailed supervision of three Residential Plan Examiners and plans examination for commercial building plans including new construction and tenant improvements, ensuring compliance with California Building Standards. I also performed plan checks on residential and commercial grading plans. In addition, I executed residential plan checks for new construction, addition/alteration, solar systems, and pools.

I worked as a Consulting Engineer for several Water Districts in the Bakersfield Area. My roles included construction management/observation/inspection, design, analysis, and drafting. I was involved in several large-scale water resources projects that include pipelines, wells, and canals. I executed project development and construction management of an 8,500-foot 63" HDPE pipeline. I performed construction observation and inspection oversight for a 2.4 mile produced water pipeline that included a 300-foot bore-jack under SR-99 and the UPRR. I performed construction inspection/observation as the owner's technical representative for the drilling and construction of eight 1000'+ agricultural water wells.
Chief Of Operations Engineering
As the Chief of Operations Engineering, I became the highest ranking military officer over 149 military and civilian craftsmen and oversaw all maintenance and repairs for 314 facilities. I directly led a 16-person customer service, material control, work planning, service contract and engineer team. My team executed small project planning, and ensured cradle-to-grave completion of 42 in-house and contract work requests valued at $867K. We managed production control and directed 39K man-hours and the execution of 3,200 work orders. I oversaw 17 service contracts worth $2.4M and a 96 vehicle fleet valued at $6.8M.

During this six month deployment, I oversaw 400 personnel during deconstruction efforts at nine military bases resulting in the successful transfer and closure of all nine bases. I managed demolition of 398 facilities and developed a $9.4M contract for the deconstruction of over 30 hardened facilities. I oversaw the survey over 4,500 structures and identified 840 structures for deconstruction
Project Manager
I became a Project Manager in the midst of the planning for a new aircraft (KC-46A) beddown at Altus AFB. I managed the design charettes, facilitating meetings with the Army Corps of Engineerings, Burns & McDonnell design team, and Altus AFB end-users. At the same time, I managed the inspection for two dorm renovations and performed several cost estimation and designs for future projects. In February of 2014, I deployed to Kandahar Air Field, Afghanistan and managed deconstruction efforts of 400 Army Engineers for nine bases in the region. We demolished 398 facilities and developed a $9.4M contract for deconstruction.
Project Programmer
My role as a Project Programmer was to plan future work by developing the scope and costs based on the customers' requirements. I was directly in charge of scope development and cost estimation for 22 infrastructure projects and I validated $47 million in asset management requirements. I also had a crucial role in developing the aircraft beddown plan, including scope and cost estimates for $59M in new construction and renovations, which led to Altus AFB being selected as the Formal Training Unit for the KC-46A Tanker. Later, I was given the role of Base Energy Manager, where I managed 3 HVAC projects worth $1.6M saving $335K per year in energy costs.
