About Patricia Martínez, Ma
As an individual with a disability and grew up with small health care needs, I have always embraced my potential and ability to succeed in life. I have worked with young children with special needs for a period of time and it has been a rewarding experience. Young children with special needs carry a deep and special spark that needs nurturing and support in order to feel accepted and reach their fullest potential. Additionally, I work with older kiddos (middle school, high school, and adults) on working on their adaptive and social skills to help each be successful. I have always believed in a positive foundation of building relationships with families because they are the primary educators of their children. Collaborating with families helps build partnerships so that families can receive the best treatment and support as possible. Nonetheless, working with a families and their young children have provided me insights, professionalism, and leadership to succeed in the best way possible along with putting smiles on children's faces. My interests are to continue growing professionally and personally, learn more about child life profession, and available resources that need to be reached out. Further, my passion was in the socialization training field where I supervise and facilitated social skills to a group of children and young individuals. I develop and implement a curriculum that helps children on the spectrum how to socialize with peers their own age, how to greet, start a conversation, maintain a conversation, and build meaningful friendship. Lastly, I have transitioned to a new position of Client Scheduler Coordinator where I will be learning about the administration field and I’m looking forward to growing in that aspect. My continued professional goal is to continue help children with special needs feel inclusive in their environment, community, school, home, and society.
