I'm a professional leader who thrives on building and leading teams to work on high risk problems. I like challenges and variety. I'm good at cutting through ambiguity. I think and communicate clearly, and I know how to rally teams around tough problems.Today, I lead an engineering team building apps to improve access to digital healthcare. Before that I worked in R&D, in a tiny startup inventing new types of mission critical communications. First, I was an Army Officer. I spent years leading Infantry soldiers on dangerous front-line operations. Then yet more years managing big chunks of the Army from one of its strategic headquarters.I'm values based and people focussed. I'm here for culture, communication and teamwork. But, I also have a technical side. Computing and software development don't phase me. I'm a self taught programmer and love working with (real) engineers on solving technical problems.I love bringing my diverse experience to the companies and people I work with. In particular, my contribution is logical thinking and technical problem solving, combined with the real leadership skills, optimism, risk management and communication skills that help teams succeed when they're doing things no one's done before.
