I work as a consultant for multiple clients and industries, providing Oracle technical expertise to solve problems and implement solutions that drive businesses forward.I've participated as a technical lead in complex projects such as data center migrations, infrastructure upgrades, architecture implementation, infrastructure assessments, performance tuning and others where each one was successfully completed on time, on budget and scope.I've worked in international projects that allowed me to acquire experience working in a multi-cultural environment with remote and local teams.For the last couple of years I've been working for an industry leading international telco supplier, as part of the data warehouse unit where I work with local and remote teams in order to provide a near-realtime (less than 1 hour) reporting system that has worldwide exposure and is available to well-known companies from all over the world.More recently, I've lead a project to migrate Oracle databases on-premises to the Amazon AWS Cloud using Amazon Oracle RDS services.Currently working mainly in DevOps as a Build Engineer, Evangelist & Architect.

I co-founded this company with a business partner to provide social media management services to the Portuguese market.I developed the brand's presence on the Portuguese's incipient, at the time, social media market and my partner made the connections that allowed us to present our services to a few potential clients.I learned a lot about entrepreneurship and the challenges of starting a new business.

After a merger between my previous employer and another business, I continued on the role of team leader, learning more on leadership, teamwork and communication skills. On top of that, I also had the responsibility of managing clients, writing proposals for new contracts and designing infrastructure architectures.This allowed me to stay connected to technical work and keep updated with the technological evolution that enabled innovative solutions to be proposed and implemented.

I was responsible for leading a small team (2 to 4) of consultants and managing them on which clients and tasks they were assigned and providing executive management with reports on team performance and task progress.This role allowed me to introduce myself to important leadership skills but also to enhance my teamwork, attention to detail and critical thinking capabilities.I also continued performing technical work alongside my other team members, building upon my previous years of experience, while also being exposed to the latest technologies in order to stay relevant on the market and to be able to provide clients with innovative solutions to their problems and to improve upon existing processes.I participated in a large data migration project for a government institution whose objective was to migrate information from a legacy (circa 1970) information system to an updated version of that same system. This migration was achieved using ETL software and I had to perform business case analysis to understand the mapping between the legacy and the updated version and then implement it in software.

I began working for multiple clients following a consultancy oriented approach to database administration.These clients spanned across multiple industries including aerospace, tourism, government, food, financial, telco and transportation, among others. In turn, this allowed me to be exposed to many different challenges and opportunities that enabled me to improve and extend my technical skill set and have a real impact on the organizations IT infrastructure and processes.During these years working as a consultant and managing multiple clients at the same time, I also took the time to further improve my soft skills on work ethics, time management, and adaptability as I needed to manage client requirements and expectations and also communicate progress status to my company's management team.

I started a one-year internship, on the last year of my Master's program, at a large client in the Portuguese aerospace industry, where I developed a prototype for a web-based console that could monitor the general status of databases and operating systems in a heterogeneous environment and, as a differentiating factor, also supported monitoring of specific business metrics that could be obtained with SQL queries.At the same time, as I developed the prototype, I was also under the supervision of a senior database administrator that gave me assignments which allowed me to further improve my skills and knowledge of databases and operating systems as well as other supporting tools that are typically used in an enterprise IT environment.After my internship ended, my supervisor left, and I stayed at the same client in the role of database administrator. During this year, I effectively handled all the issues and tasks that would come up on a typical (and sometimes atypical) database administrator's work day. I also improved upon several processes efficiency and documentation that simplified recurrent tasks and allowed them to be completed sooner.In these two years, I expanded my understanding of Oracle database technology and UNIX operating systems as well as other technical knowledge in networking, shell scripting, programming and other enterprise IT software. It also allowed me to improve upon my soft-skills such as communication, teamwork and problem-solving.
