In 1981 I graduated from McMaster University and started my career with Xerox Canada. I held several marketing, sales and sales management roles during my tenure at Xerox. With the Xerox experience I was hired by Triathlon Leasing in 1989 as the President of the Equipment Leasing Division. In 1993, I co-founded Maxium Financial Services, an organization specializing in mid-market lending to several vertical markets including the healthcare and golf industries. In March 2016, Maxium Financial was sold to the Canadian Western Bank Group of companies. I became the CEO of CWB Maxium Financial in 2016 responsible for leadership, innovation, strategic direction and overall profitability. I retired from this role in November, 2018.In April 2019, I purchased Turf Care Products Canada and became the CEO. Turf Care is the leading Canadian Turf equipment, Irrigation systems and Parts supplier to the Canadian Golf and Sport Field Industries. I aspire to build organizational culture that fosters creativity, inclusivity and a commitment to develop long term relationships with customers, employees and suppliers. Both Turf Care and Maxium has been awarded the distinction as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies.In July 2021, I introduced the launch of a new Finance company, Care Lending Group (CLG) where I will retain the CEO role and will be joined by a group of former Maxium Executives.CLG initial focus will be on providing financing solutions to the Golf and Healthcare markets, where the group has extensive industry experience. We anticipate entering other niche markets in the future that are currently under serviced by traditional lenders.We deliver customized leasing and structured loan solutions with deals ranging from $50,000 to $10 Million. The CLG initial portfolio exceeds $60 Million with a plan to grow this significantly.My passion for golfGolf made a positive impact in my life in grade 7; today the passion remains strong and in 2015, I accepted the honour and volunteer role as president of Golf Canada. Beyond a life-long sport, the golf industry impacts many lives in different ways. The golf industry represents over $14.3 billion dollars of economic impact, as well as, a fantastic channel for philanthropy; golf events have raised over $500 million dollars for worthy causes in Canada.
