Elected Fire Commissioner of Howell Township Fire District No. 2, Howell, New Jersey. District No. 2 was founded in 1927 and operates the Adelphia Fire Company, which consists of 60 members, two fire stations and 13 pieces of apparatus. Adelphia Fire Company is 100% volunteer and provides fire protection to the Northern most areas of Howell, New Jersey, covering approximately 22 square miles. While primarily residential, the primary response area includes commercial areas of NJ Routes 9 and 33. The company responds to emergency calls of all types including fire and carbon monoxide alarms, and motor vehicle accidents.

Having grown up in a family leading the physical and electronic security space since 1923, I’ve got 40 years of experience running middle market, regional and national security companies. I have arranged mergers and acquisitions, been engaged as crisis CEO, CFO and COO, raised debt and equity financing and served as an expert witness in cases involving central monitoring stations, business valuation and product liability. I hold NICET IV, Fire Alarm certification (SME on NICET’s In-Building Public Safety Communications (IB-PSC) development program) CAT-1 certification, am a licensed private investigator and certified fraud examiner. I am involved with SIA, TMA, ASIS, NFPA (serve as a Principal Member of the NFPA Technical Committee on Protected Premises Fire Alarm Systems), ESA, ALOA and other trade associations. Based in Manhattan, Securewatch24 is a privately held, physical and electronic security provider founded by veteran members of the NYPD, financed by one of New York’s largest residential property owners. I headed up SW24's alarm services division, including it's crown jewel, the 25,000 square foot "Fusion Centre", located in Moonachie, NJ. A video-centric monitoring station, the Fusion Centre features an 11' x 40' video display wall. The fortified facility can be staffed by up to 300. SW24 currently monitors more than 30,000 exterior cameras installed throughout Metropolitan New York -- one of the largest such networks in the world. Service offerings include Burglar and Fire Alarms, Video Surveillance, Access Control, Private Investigations and Guard Services. Through its Citywide Safety Initiative (CSI), SW24 partners with Genetec, the NYPD, and other law enforcement agencies to provide access to select customers' video surveillance real-time. I was responsible for obtaining the Fusion Centre's highly exclusive UL Central Station Burglar Alarm Listing. I was a key player in SW24's exclusive security sponsorship of Barclays Center and the Brooklyn Nets and often had the privilege of supporting the company's commitment to Wounded Warriors and other charitable causes.

Sentry was a full service commercial and residential electronic and physical security provider serving metropolitan New York and select clients nationwide. Sentry was the first to introduce Internet central station monitoring in the Northeast. It was known for its expertise in high-risk markets, including New York's Diamond District and high-rise fire alarm systems. Sentry specialized in residential security solutions for dignitaries, celebrities and business leaders.

Engaged as crisis CFO for this $20MM Financial Printing business. Admiral, based in Downtown Manhattan on West Street was just a few blocks South of the World Trade Center. After the cleanup of its 40,000 square foot facility was completed, another disaster errupted for this once-thriving concern. Major investment banks started merging and moving back-office operations out of Manhattan. Those that remained started migrating to electronic documents and on-demand digital printing. Sales plummeted. Upon arrival, I performed a comprehensive audit. focusing on sales, production, purchasing and back-office operations. I elminated unnecessary personnel and equipment and reduced DSO. I led the implementation of one of the first e-commerce websites offering online printing. I negotiated with the building owner and successfully sold off dozens of outmoded offset printing presses. We relocated the business to a more efficient and economical plant in Nassau County, developed a new business model focusing on digital printing and highly customized direct mail.

Responsible for P&L, day-to-day and turn-around management of this Regional Central Station Burglar and Fire Alarm Company. Prior to my arrival, Sentry Detection was a mass-market residential business with the industry's largest telemarketing program. With over 100 operator positions, it sold and installed over 1,000 residential alarm systems per month. Sentry was the most over-leveraged business in Honeywell's dealer lending portfolio and was among the reasons why GE backed out of acquiring Honeywell’s security business. When funding was discontinued, I repurposed the mass-marketing operation to focus on large scale commercial video surveillance systems with an average ticket exceeding $10,000, funded by third-party leasing companies.

Larrabee Ventures was the first specialist boutique investment bank in the security space. Represented buyers and sellers. Performed financial and operational due diligence. Raised equity and debt financing including angel, venture capital and institutional. Aligned lenders and borrowers through unconventional and conventional lines of credit. Served as expert witness in matters including valuation, errors and omissions and fraud. Served as crisis COO for a super-regional company, successfully preparing it for sale.

Directed the integration of the Holmes Protection customer base within the Northeast Region. Completed dozens of acquisitions including Wells Fargo Alarm Services, Alarm Guard and Robinson Alarm.

Sold Goldring Protection to Holmes (NASD: HLMS) in 1995. Holmes, founded in 1858 patented the first alarm system. Responsible for day-to-day management of the Northeast, the largest region in the U.S. Negotiated, performed due diligence, closed and integrated 17 acquisitions adding $1.0MM of recurring revenue. and One of twelve senior executives asked to remain with Tyco following the 1997 acquisition of Holmes by their business unit, ADT Security Services.

Led and grew my family's Metropolitan Central Station Burglar and Fire Alarm business, its roots tracing back to 1923. Started a National Account Program that included several major retail chains. Sold the company to Holmes Protection, providing the cornerstone of the foundation for its national footprint.

The lifelong career of a serial entrepreneur began at 11 years old. Supported by friends and family (and having relatives in the industry) I began installing alarms in homes. By the end of High School, the business had three full-time employees and over 500 customers. I sold PMG to a regional company before starting college.
