Paul Goodwin joined Avant Technology in October of 2007 as the VP of product development. He brings over 25 years of experience in engineering and technical marketing in the memory, networking, and solid state disk fields. His specialty is creatively integrating technologies from diverse fields and transforming these elements into world class product solutions. He also represents Avant Technology at JEDEC where he is also serves as the vice-chair of the DRAM Module committee and had served as the chair of the FB-DIMM task group. Most recently Mr. Goodwin was VP of Enterprise Technology and Distinguished Member Technical Staff at Staktek. While at Staktek he conceived several new technologies including a revolutionary module technology. Mr. Goodwin was the company spokesperson giving presentations at conferences and trade Shows, briefings for investors and analysts, published articles on Staktek’s technologies, and evangelized their technologies world. Prior to Staktek Mr. Goodwin was consulting to several startups on architecture, product positioning, and strategy. He was at Avici Systems where he architected and led the implementation of a switch fabric for a multi-terabit router. Before Avici Systems Mr. Goodwin spent 14 years at Digital Equipment Corporation where he held positions as principal engineer, program manager and Memory Architect. Paul Goodwin began his training in electrical engineering at UMASS where he received a BSEE. He has studied Technology Strategy and Policy at Boston University and Patent Law with the Patent Research Group.
