Assistant Curriculum Leader Of The Arts (Drama/Music/Visual Arts/Nac/Dance) And Technology

- Provide leadership in curricular initiatives (both methodologies and assessment) and in assisting all students to achieve success - Provide mentoring for teachers, and facilitate professional development opportunities for staff, including workshops on Global Competencies and collaborative inquiry in the mathematics classroom- Liaise with school administration, central Board personnel, feeder schools, business partners and organizations within the larger community- Support school-wide initiatives including all assemblies, and the school's participation in Board sponsored events, such as TDSB Creates, Skills Competition, and the Edge Youth Art Show- Lead the drama department's success in the National Theatre School's (NTS) Drama Festival each year, with Kipling CI students winning awards of excellence and merit in best production, acting, ensemble, directing, sound, & stage management- Facilitate planning committees and lead the organization of annual school-wide events including Multi-cultural night, Remembrance Day assembly, and school-wide performances- Conduct regular department meetings and communicate effectively with all eight department members- Facilitate the development of curricula, teaching strategies and assessment and evaluation based on Growing Success- Prepare and maintain a balanced budget - Oversee the maintenance of all department equipment and resources, as well as school-wide technology- Collaborate with Leadership Team to organize and facilitate school outreach programs
