As a Process Safety EIT I assisted in maintaining a safe work environment in compliance with health and safety standards, regulations and good engineering practices. In addition, I facilitated Process Hazard Analyses for multiple areas across the site and implemented corrective measures to eliminate and/or mitigate hazards.

As a Process Engineer co-op student I worked under the direction of Oil Sands Extraction Process Engineers who are accountable for providing process engineering technical support within the business unit to ensure the facility assets are run safely, efficiently and reliably. My support included monitoring and reporting of key performance indicators, optimization and improvement of existing equipment, development of plant sampling campaigns for process monitoring, troubleshooting process related issues and providing support for incident investigations by applying root cause analysis techniques.
