in my current role as workflow architect I have broadened my understanding of the VFX pipeline to encompass the whole of the VFX production pipeline at RSP. Most recently I've been involved in the transition to USD on a character animation project landing in late 2023.In my current role as 2D technical supervisor I work closely with the RND team and pipeline team to help built new systems that meets the needs of all artists who use the 2D pipeline at DNeg. This work includes anything from the colour piepline, templating, render dispatching, CG manipulation, automation and exploring emerging technology and cutting edge workflows. I have a strong creative background as well as a technical foundation that allows me to imagine new ways of working. Along side my creative background I have many years of experience programming using Python and occasionally c++. I am confident using git, doing code review and using build systems.I've also been a 2D supervisor most recently on Alex Garland's latest film Annihilation where I had the opportunity to work closely with the director. Furthermore I have extensive knowledge of the VFX pipeline in all disciplines along with a strong interest in art and programming. I've worked as a compositing td where I've built tools used extensively by DNEG throughout my 10+ year career. Even after over 17 years in visual effects I am interested in new challenges that projects bring in both the technical and creative realms.
