Seconded to the FGAN research institute, Bonn, Germany, where I undertook work on high range resolution radar processing and was responsible for the design of an ultra-wideband digital “chirp” waveform generator using Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS).

Won a Corporate Research Fellowship. This formed part of a long-term strategy to expand and develop further QinetiQ’s multi-element antenna technology. Developed strategic links with the Centre for Communications Research at the University of Bristol, and led a programme of collaborative research.Provided industrial sponsorship and acted as industrial supervisor to a number of PhD and MSc students throughout this period.
