Estimating the steel erection, decks (cast in place and precast) and demolition for a NYSDOT project .(contract)

Bid site, utility and concrete foundation projects for the Utility Division in Woburn MA. Projects ranged from $250 K 13 M. Bids were to private and public owners, as a subcontractor or general contractor.

Supervised the conversion the existing estimating system to HCSS Estimating software. Worked on the successful bids for the I4/Selmon Interchange in Tampa, FL and for the Pearl Harbor Bridge in New Haven, CT.

Estimated concrete and steel erection for bridge and treatment plant projects in CT, MA and RI.

Worked on projects for marine facilities at LNG terminals in Cameron Parish, LA and Sabine Pass, TX. Projects included large diameter piling, precast, cast in place concrete and setting equipment. These were design build contracts for Cheniere LNG and Exxon Mobile. Responsibilities included cost to complete, profit and loss statements and cost controls. Implemented HCSS Heavyjob at the jobsite for entry of diaries and time sheets.

Projects either fully or partially responsible for bidding:• Bridges: Estimated a variety of work including steel erection, pile driving and demolition. Projects included bridges for Boston Central Artery, Massachusetts Highway Department, Massachusetts Turnpike Authority, Virginia and Florida DOTs• Marine: Projects included bridge foundations and cofferdams, piers, sheet pile walls and marine facilities• Highway: Earthwork and various types of retaining structures both permanent and temporary• Utilities: Estimates for both highway and city• Miscellaneous Facilities: Stations for the MBTA, Vent Buildings for the Central Artery and Parks for the Central Artery. • Tunnels: Boston Central Artery (open cut, boat section and slurry wall) and Seattle Light RailResponsibilities included managing the estimating team, analysis of the plans and specifications, including development of means and methods, preparing bidding strategy, pricing, developing prebid schedules and training junior estimators.This work involved extensive interaction with company executives, field personnel, subcontractors and suppliers, and also corresponding with the project owners. Most projects were for public owners; a few were for private owners.

Field Project Manager for 2 mini pile projects and a concrete retaining wall of varying geometry using one-sided forming methods in Baltimore, MD.

Field Superintendent for retaining walls and bridges on a DOT project in Hartford, CT and other projects in Connecticut. Senior Estimator in the Medway, MA District Office. Estimates were for projects in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York and Florida. The types of work estimated, and responsibilities, were very similar to what is detailed above for Modern Continental
