Patrick O'Donnell III, MS, LAT, ATC, CES, joined the Knights sports medicine staff in the summer of 2018. O’Donnell currently provides care as the athletic trainer for the UCF men’s soccer program. Prior to his current post, Patrick worked as a senior athletic trainer with tennis and spirit from 2022-2024, as well as an assistant athletic trainer with UCF Baseball from 2020-2022. Patrick also served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with the Knights football program from 2018-2020 while earning his master’s degree in kinesiology. He currently serves as a preceptor in the UCF Athletic Training Education Program.O’Donnell obtained his bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Purdue University in 2018. While at Purdue, he assisted in providing health care to Boilermaker football, wrestling, swimming, and diving programs. From 2016-2017, he served as an intern for the Indianapolis Colts.O’Donnell is a NATA Board Certified athletic trainer and is licensed by the State of Florida. He has also been certified as a Corrective Exercise Specialist by the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Beyond the clinical setting, Patrick also serves as the chairperson for the Early Career Professionals Committee and as a representative for UCF on the College and University Committee for the Athletic Trainers' Association of Florida.
