Kamusta! Ako si Anna Balagtas (she/they) and I'm a queer Filipina non-binary femme prioritizing supporting systemically marginalized and underserved communities across Turtle Island. I'm the founder of Pocket Doula and founding member of the National Collaboration for Doula Access (NCDA). I support emerging careworkers and reproductive health organizations in radicalizing their practice through mentorships, queer reproductive justice advocacy, and community organizing. In my work, I use creative and collective means to disrupt the many systems of oppression that hinder our liberation.My deepest joy comes from witnessing our communities thrive through community care, mutual aid, and abolition work.I take care in understanding there is anti-oppression work to be upheld in all facets of reproductive care and am committed to learning how to hold accountable the many systems of oppression that continue to harm systematically underserved communities - especially 2Spirit, queer, trans, and gender non-conforming BIPGM (Black, Indigenous, People of the Global Majority) folks. My goal is to make sure any space we share together is radical, inclusive, and affirming.
