Responsible for Airbus' UTM products and strategy, including our traffic management platform, digital and cloud infrastructure, air traffic services, and applications serving ANSPs and drone operators. I managed the Airbus UTM team in the United States.Initiated and authored the Airbus Blueprint for the Skies, our technical vision for the integration of unmanned air traffic with the national airspace system.Initiated product strategy, market research, and roadmaps for the architecture, regulation, and technology required for adoption of digital air traffic management. Developed cloud infrastructure for Airbus on Google Cloud Platform, architected digital services in Python & Go, and managed & analyzed large datasets with Postgres and BigQuery.

Leading cross-functional teams (product, engineering, design, content, data science, marketing, user research, and business development) delivering cloud software across Medium's product base, including writer success, recommendation systems, user growth, and revenue. Responsible for product strategy and execution.

Appointed as a Presidential Innovation Fellow by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP). Co-lead the U.S. government's "Innovation Toolkit" initiative to architect, develop, and deploy technology to augment and tap into the skills, creativity, and capacity for innovation of the Federal workforce and their interaction with U.S. citizens. Serve on the Board of Directors, working directly with Sentilla investors ONSET Ventures, SingTel Innov8, Claremont Creek Ventures, and Wavepoint Ventures.

Co-founded Sentilla, a predictive analytics software company, acquired by Ericsson. Served as founding CEO, raised 3 rounds of funding, and led our product, business, and technical teams as CTO and Board Member.Responsible for the product direction, customer engagement, and technical architecture of Sentilla Energy Manager, our flagship product. Carried out market research, user needs studies, prototyping, and iterative deployment with customers that resulted in the development of Sentilla’s cloud management capabilities, one of the key technologies that led to our acquisition.Expanded operations to Singapore where I acted as regional managing director. Directly sourced, closed, and installed Sentilla software with SingTel (Singapore), Optus (Australia), and Globe (Philippines).Working with customers in the US and Asia, designed Sentilla’s offering for the telecommunications industry. Sentilla’s software platform was extended to address telecom needs, and our product marketing was updated to address the needs of telcos. Through a series of software enhancements, customization capabilities, and new platform functionality, our team launched the Sentilla solution for telecommunications.Other noteworthy accomplishments:- Designed and built a CLDC 1.1 fully-compliant Java Virtual Machine for 8-bit and 16-bit microcontrollers using a split-VM paradigm- The package showing the JVM and sensor hardware (Sentilla Perk Kit) was selected as a show device at JavaOne 2008 and won the Duke award- Sold and shipped tens of thousands of Internet of Things smart sensors (called motes), as starter kits to seed Sentilla's software analytics platform- Filed 4 patents, awarded 2 at time of acquisition

Organized Intel Research’s environmental monitoring efforts involving wireless sensing. Projects including fabrication facility monitoring, elderly monitoring, and environmental monitoring. Collaborated and spearheaded the joint Berkeley / Intel Research Great Duck Island project, thereby deploying the world’s first long lived wireless sensor network.

Designed, implemented, and managed Microsoft’s Wireless Services API. Developed a novel method for locating the position of a mobile laptop without privacy implications (no server knowledge). Awarded patent 6,664,925 for “Method and System for Determining the Location of a Mobile Computer”, a location system that pinpoints corporate assets and was included in Windows XP.

Selected to IBM’s premier Extreme Blue program in its first year of operation in 1999, recognizing and hiring the top young innovators with an acceptance rate of less than 3%. Served as the liason between IBM and the Apache XML project, Xerces. Implemented the world’s first WAP/WML browser based on Xerces. Designed and implemented the SAX/SAX2 implementation to Xerces now widely in use. Contributed Xerces features and improvements to Apache based on IBM interests.
