I was director of research, inventor of data compression algorithms (lossless and lossy) that were best of breed for music and video. Later I was director of technology transfer and travelled extensively in Japan and Korea licensing our algorithms.

I was responsible for expanding the scope of the Canadian Academy from cinema to include television and cincreased membership from a few hundred to severalthousand professionals. I inherited a deficit and turned aroud the financial position of the Academy to being financially viable.

CIMA (formerly CIRPA) is the trade organization representing the independent sector of the Canadian music and sound recording industry and the collective voice of independent music in English-speaking Canada.
