In October 2016, I was invited to be a consumer representative for Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network. During this time, I have had the opportunity contribute and participate on a number of high level projects, including redesigning the outpatient clinics, reviewing publications for patients and families, and being heavily involved in guiding the Westmead Precinct Redevelopment and particularly in designing a carers retreat for parents and families of children admitted to hospital for three days or less. I attended the NSW Patient Experience Symposium and a Vivid Ideas Workshop representing Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network. In 2017 I also joined the parent advisory board at Bear Cottage in Manly and was invited to Moderate the panel discussion for Sydney Ideas panelist discussion on "How can design-led thinking improve health and wellbeing?" at the The Westmead Institute for Medical Research. My drive to contribute is fueled with the hope that I can contribute through my own personal circumstances to directly help to improve the experience of other patients and families and contribute change in a positive way for future families.
