My Tenant Representation experience goes beyond the large corporations that I represent at the negotiation table. I proudly give my time and leasing advice to NFPs and SMBs who need an upper hand, or a guiding hand, during landlord negotiations. Tenants negotiate new leases once every 3-5 years, I negotiate leases every day... just like the landlords and agents that tenants are up against. I fell into Tenant Representation following a decade as the General Manager of Asset Management for Private Landlords and Fund Managers, overseeing nationally dispersed commercial property portfolios... And only now do I feel good about the clients I represent.I have worked on 'Landlord-side' with traditional Retail, Office and Industrial portfolios, as well as more complex asset classes including CoWorking and Shopping Centre Management. I have worked in agency and client-side, and even for a brief period, acted as the General Manager of proptech business Shortspace.com, touted as “the Airbnb for commercial properties”.Fortunate to have started my post-university career on the AMP Capital Property Graduate Program, followed by a National role at AMP Shopping Centres and then Retail Manager of Sydney’s distinguished Chifley Tower for GIC (Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund), I cut my teeth learning best practice, from renown managers, on the most complex assets.I've represented Landlords at all stages of a property ownership cycle:• Property Acquisition & Disposals• Financial, Technical & Legal Due Diligence • Leasing Deal Origination & Transactions • Facilities & Project Management; and• Property ManagementAnd representing Tenants on these issues is no different. As an educated professional who also holds a Bachelor of Building Construction Management, I held a New South Wales Real Estate License until late-2017 when I transferred it to a Victorian Real Estate Agents License upon moving with my family (wife & 2 boys) from Sydney to Melbourne.I’m always available to be challenged by any commercial property requirement, whether to provide advice, share my experiences or point someone in the right direction within my network of likeminded professionals. Feel free to reach out, any time.

DirectorTenant Cs Aug 2019 - PresentSydney, New South Wales, AuYou wouldn't sell your house without an agent, so why lease a commercial space without representation. Using 20 years of experience in negotiating leases on behalf of Landlords, Tenants are utilising my knowledge of Landlord investment drivers to get you, the Retail, Office or Industrial Tenant, the best outcome. We represent tenants (exclusively) to renegotiate leases on expiry, exit leases, sublease excess space, and search the market for suitable relocation options. We work to establish the real estate requirements of our clients, and then are trusted representatives throughout the process, including property searches & negotiation of terms. Now more than ever we can be relied upon to help companies find real estate solutions that: • offer immediate cash flow benefits • downsizes them from excess space or consolidates premises, which might even spare job redundancies • are delivered discreetly, saving staff and customers from uncertainty We only represent tenants. -
National Asset ManagerPeak Equities Pty Ltd Feb 2018 - Aug 2019While in this role I was overseeing the Asset Management for a $250m mixed use, National portfolio. My key focus was reinstating value to a Townsville shopping centre, where vacancy had grown to 63% by GLA. In 12 months, by devising and implementing an active capital works and leasing plan, that vacancy reduced to 15%.Elsewhere the portfolio included office, industrial and retail assets in Camberwell VIC, Caboolture & Southport QLD, Perth WA, Darwin NT and Adelaide SA. In each state I managed a local Property Management team, creating, communicating and driving the performance of each asset, with the sole purpose of maximising value. Most leasing deals were negotiated in house too.

General Manager, Asset ManagementIntergen Property Group Oct 2015 - Jan 2018Sydney, Nsw, AuFollowing my integral role in setting up the AFS Licensed, Intergen Property Group's Asset Management division, as General Manager, Asset Management I was involved in off-market acquisitions, major redevelopments and organic growth of portfolio Property Management.Established in March 2016, the team of Intergen Asset Managers helped to buy, strategize and deliver long term performance for portfolios of properties, from any asset class, for private clients and for the Intergen Property Wholesale Fund - iGen.My operational experience across all asset classes was the key to leading and growing teams of Intergen Asset Managers, as well as providing structure, direction and strategy to our Leasing, Marketing and Development Consultants. Responsible for divisional financial accountability, portfolio performance and team growth (hiring and training), and as a member of the Intergen Leadership Team, I am grateful to the Intergen Management Team for the opportunity, the trust they placed in me and the motivation they provided me to perform. -
General ManagerShortspace Mar 2015 - Oct 2015Shortspace is Australia's leading online agency specialising in short term use of Commercial, Residential, Storage & Parking Spaces.Teaming with landlords who were keen to get some short term income from vacancies while their agents were trying to find long term tenants - we always achieved above-market rents! We turned empty offices into Serviced Offices, retail vacancies into a Pop-Up Shops and more... As a Licensed Agency we invoiced rents, collected bonds and managed the leases - no matter how long the tenant was booked in for. I was proud to manage Shortspace through the launch of it's newly designed site, bringing real estate and serviced office management experience to a team of thinkers who remain ahead of time. I look forward to seeing Shortspace mentioned alongside other disruptive real estate brands like AirBnB. -
Property Management ExpertMsp Realty Jul 2013 - Oct 2015With nearly a decade's experience in Property Management, many in senior positions, I set up MSP to contract to a number of agencies in order to build a complex portfolio of commercial properties, to add variety to my role & improve my skill base.Reporting directly to the CEOs of respected agencies TGC, Altera Group & Shortspace, as well as private landlords, I performed roles including Property Manager, Asset Manager, Facilities Manager, Leasing Manager & Development Consultant. I provided these agencies with a solution to a staff-vacancy for a fraction of the cost for someone with my experience, and developed income generating initiatives like setting up & managing Serviced Offices for private landlords - in properties that would have otherwise sat vacant.Consulting to agencies has allowed me to develop skills and relationships with private landlords after an earlier career with institutional owners such as AMP & GIC. I have explored technology and process innovations, while gaining experience in cost management and investment evaluation - invaluable skills that could have only been learned as a contractor and taken me one step closer to being a business leader.

City Fringe Sales And LeasingTim Green Commercial Sep 2010 - Jul 2015Sydney, New South Wales, AuMy last role at TGC was as the Facilities Management of a portfolio of CBD Properties, as well as Property, Asset & Leasing Manager of a new 6,000sqm mixed-use development that I managed since before it came out of the ground. I autonomously implemented all Property Management requirements, influenced design & finishes, negotiated contracts and, most importantly, leased the building to 100% occupancy within 12 months of completion. With ongoing construction and extensive fitouts surrounding a working building, tenant relations and communication were an important feature of my success as the sole-manager of this property. This position followed a great journey with TGC, including Development Management, Leasing, Sales, Facilities Management & Property Management - Developing and implementing creative strategies for earning additional supplementary income is where I excelled! -
