Engineer/scientist who enjoys asking 'weird' questions - which lead to research! My research interests currently encompass looking at more optimal pathways for 'waste' materials across a range of different industries. Happy to chat to anyone that has material that is currently considered a waste! Currently overseeing a $13m+ portfolio of projects which keeps me busy.From a career pathway perspective, I am a chemical engineer/food scientist, and hold a BE (Hons I) in the fields of Chemical and Materials Engineering. I have a PhD in the disciplines of Chemical & Materials Engineering+Food Science. I have 23 years of academic experience in food and materials research primarily with industry collaborators, coupled with extensive tertiary teaching in the fields of food science and engineering.

The project partners will create a step-change by focusing on capacity building initiatives to enable industry and universities to co-design and develop new products and processes to support regional manufacturing priorities such as technical, environmental, economic, educational and cultural aspects of green energy, resource recovery and waste recycling/upcycling. It will also create a workforce pipeline to support the sector, with a focus on training of industry-ready researchers who will be the innovators for regional manufacturing industries into the future, while attracting and retaining manufacturing opportunities and talent in regional areas.
