Chair of one of the largest debating societies in the North of England, this role included:- Organisation and chairing of monthly public debates over the 2017/2018 academic year- Chairing of the public debates, "This House Supports the Expansion of Nuclear Power" and "This House Would Allow Parents to Design Their Children", in the second semester of the 2016/2017 year.- Organisation and advertising of other public debating events from my induction into the role onward, including a general election hustings.- Chairing committee meetings and overseeing committee activities.- Acting as a point of contact for people wishing to sponsor or otherwise interact with the Debating Union.I previously held the post of Externals Officer, with similar responsibilities for communicating with potential speakers for public debates.
