Hello, I’m Polly! Growing up, I knew I wanted to advocate and help people excel in their careers. I've spent over the past 10 years progressively in Human Resources, focusing on talent acquisition, health & safety, performance management, policy implementation, ESA/labor laws guidance, and more. Last year, I decided to take a break from the corporate world and went on a year-long adventure exploring Europe, Asia, and the US. It was an amazing experience that taught me so much about different cultures, work-life balance, and of course, some incredible food! I sought to learn more about myself and what my values and purpose was, which has led me to strive for work with meaning and purpose. As an HR Consultant, I help small and mid-sized companies with tailored HR solutions—think full cycle recruitment, HR policy creation, compliance with ESA & other applicable laws, onboarding/offboarding, and more. I bring a collaborative and understanding approach to my work, and focus on building a solid foundation for companies without a dedicated HR department. As well being a first-generation immigrant, I know how tough it can be to navigate the job market in Canada. My work as a Career Advisor with the FOCUS@Work Program is driven by a desire to empower job seekers with the confidence and tools they need to succeed. YWCA FOCUS@Work is a free, highly-participatory 12 week employment program that helps women assess their skills and strengths, set career goals, build connections and develop job search skills to find meaningful, sustainable employment.
