TravelCareer Break Feb 2023 - Dec 2023A one-year sabbatical to travel, reflect and recharge. Spent the year traveling to different parts of Mexico and reconnecting with my roots. It was an amazing opportunity to spend time with family, see new places with amazing history, and be present with older family members to rekindle conversations started years ago. I also traveled to each of my son’s football games, as he winded down his college career with accolades on the field and off. Getting to be there with him and friends and family was special.Lastly, it was a time well-spent to learn and touch new technologies that interest me. If there’s one professional motto I follow, it’s “Everything I know today, at one point was new.”I spent time building cloud infrastructure projects based on Docker and Kubernetes, and with both AWS and Azure platforms, to be a better, more well-rounded architect.Truly a year to remember, and one that prepared me to hit 2024 with all my energy and continued desire to grow professionally.
