I was working as a team leader on the Yandex Monitoring project. It is a system monitoring service heavily used in Yandex internally and available as part of Yandex Cloud services. I gained experience creating a high load, distributed time-series database from scratch (build with C++ and Java), being responsible of making system design decisions and leading a team of engineers.

I worked on Yandex Query Language (YQL) project. YQL is a high-level language for querying and processing data stored in Yandex's internal distributed data storage and Map-Reduce system. I worked both on low-level stuff like implementing parts of a virtual machine for executing queries (build with C++) and on high-level stuff like distributed and reliable scheduling queries execution (build with Java). This product is heavily used inside the company and simplifies big data analysis.

I worked on the Yandex Maps project, mainly in building Yandex Traffic analytical service (build with C++ and Java). It provides information about road congestion levels and road jams. Almost all radio stations in Russia use this product to create news shows about large cities' traffic situation.

I have earned good experience of working in a big team of professionals, and greatly improved my technical skills. Some of my assignments included:• optimisation, increasing the scalability and carrying capacity of application (using Terracotta, Nginx, optimisations of MySQL database)• development of the protocol and service for the integration with the corporate data warehouse based on Navision and MS SQL• development of additional tools for building reports based on data from the database and Google Analytics• enhancement of the existing technical process.

I combined my university studies with work in various startups that worked mainly in the field of financial technologies.
