As Engineering Project Manager I was the point of contact with the Customer through daily and weekly meetings. I managed all aspects of the Design, Engineering and Validation for the Rear Bumpers on this Vehicle. I managed the engineering scope and resource requirements for this Project with a Team of highly skilled Engineers in UK , EU and India. We took the Customers design concept from A surface to the completed finished Core & Dynamic Exterior Bumper Assemblies for the Rear of the Vehicle. As part of the design maturity there were many challenges presented and we managed delivery with the optimum part designs through good GD&T studies and detailed DFMEAs in order to provide the Customer with the most economical and practical engineering solutions. I also managed the design interfaces to the Body in White and the development and maturity of the Bumper internal associated parts to include all Bracketry associated with thermal and electrical harness management for Lamps, PDCs and P4Us together with the complex interfaces for the Lower Skid Panels.

Engineering Project Manager To Plastic Omnium On The Land Rover Velar Tailgate L560
Polymer Technical Services Limited Aug 2016 - Mar 2017
    United Kingdom
I worked on the Velar Tailgate as Engineering Project Manager from before FDJ (Design Freeze) up to PP Phase. Engineering Project Manager To Plastic Omnium On The Jaguar F-Pace Tailgate X761 My17
Polymer Technical Services Limited Nov 2014 - Mar 2017
    Uk
The F-Pace won Pace won Car of the Year. I was very proud to be associated with this my second Tailgate Project (X761 MY14). Every Tailgate Project is unique and offers different engineering challenges driven by the styling and the design performance not to mention the CAE, Mold Flow analysis and the Tool design itself which have all to be evaluated in order to achieve a successful product for Manufacture. The Project Timing and budget resources was fully mapped out and managed by myself reporting out regularly throughout the project cycle. I managed all the Customer engineering design changes into the part and implemented a major surface change with Customer approval between build phases. I am experienced in managing late changes in Programs and also managing unforeseen situations and events. I have most importantly a committed enthusiasm and dedication to deliver a successful large scale project.I created a Lessons Learnt document with my Team which highlighted all the key lessons and these have become design standards going forward.
  • Polymer Technical Services Limited
Engineering Project Manager To Plastic Omnium On The Jlr Ranger Rover Sport Tailgate - L494 My14
Polymer Technical Services Limited Oct 2012 - Nov 2014
    Uk
The Range Rover Sport Tailgate (L494). This prestigious Project was delivered successfully on time and met all engineering and cosmetic quality requirements. The Tailgate consists of major structural components representing a combination of large scale Thermoset and Thermoplastic components tooled throughout Europe and assembled in UK. The complexity and scope of the project was added to by the logistical geographical locations of the Key Toolmakers in Europe and the post moulding machining operations. I was the main point of contact with the Customer for all engineering and design related activity. I managed the design maturity and the Toolmakers in Europe. I provided the Project Timing Plan which represented the Engineering progression and managed the key resources and budget to deliver the Program. I reported out regularly risks and opportunity and requested support where identified. I engaged with and managed all the stakeholders to influence the design maturity and the decision process. I implemented and managed the DFMEA process and SCSS (Supplement K) in line with Customer right up to Job 1 + 90 days.Design changes were managed through a formal DRFQ process and progressed weekly face to face with the Customer. The liaisons with the Toolmakers for Trials and progress reporting with evidence and detailed quotations were managed by myself with the support of expertise and feedback to the Customer through project plan updates and power point communications.I was also present at the Customers major test milestones to capture feedback and performance at first hand and reliably convey corrective actions to my Team. I also supported all the build phases by providing engineering Tailgates and where necessary prototype Tailgates for early build phases. I managed the measurement data acquisition and analysis. I was also responsible for the design and commissioning of dedicated Tailgate Checking Fixtures. I developed a close working relationship with the Team.

Engineering Project Manager To Plastic Omnium On The Nissan Leaf Rear Spoilers - Bg12
Polymer Technical Services Limited May 2010 - Oct 2012
    Uk
The Nissan Leaf Spoiler (BG12) is a 2- piece moulded Spoiler assembly offering a Solar Panel option. The Assembly is into Sunderland for EU & RUS Markets. The technical authority rested with Nissan Yokohama Japan. The design engineering and all technical aspects were managed by myself from the UK through numerous co-ordinated meetings with key stakeholders. The CAD work was developed through an NX Design Office in Spain with direction from UK and managed by myself . The engineering and customer point of contact was managed by myself through telephone calls , power points and conference calls via Webex. I developed a full engineering project road map to include detailed resource planning with milestones and reporting updates was provided from the onset. Progress direction and monitoring was daily with CAD Engineers at home and overseas, All aspects of the Engineering Spoiler development was managed by myself with key inputs from GD&T , Mold Flow, Material Suppliers, Toolmakers, Bonding expertise and Paint specialists. The Off shore Toolmakers reported progress updates weekly with evidence and site visits against agreed up front schedules. The Tool was delivered on time at T 1. Throughout the design every engineering and cosmetic aspect was addressed in DFMEA resulting is a successful product. The Nissan Team in Japan led by the Lead Engineer engaged weekly through conference calls to agenda and actions reported out.I was particularly pleased with the bonding path design and how we developed this design through the use of prototypes and testing. I was particularly pleased with the split line from the tool construction point of view and how this was managed this from a risk point of view.
