Weipeng is currently a Principal SDE in Bing Platform team, working on index serving stack that includes caption generation & serving, reranking infrastructure, deep learning platform, QnA etc., with a focus in backend performance engineering.In the past (2009-2013) he was a Research SDE in the Innovation Engineering Group at Microsoft Research Asia and worked to enhance Microsoft products with technology from research. He helped ship "Code Clone Analysis" in Visual Studio, and co-led the project “Engkoo Pinyin IME” (A Chinese Input Editor) which later became the popular Bing IME.Weipeng is a seasoned engineer, with 13+ years of C++ system level engineering, and 8+ years of backend service engineering experience. He is also the translator of "Imperfect C++", "Exceptional C++ Style", "Working Effectively with Legacy Code" and (co-translator)"Beautiful Code".In his leisure time, he also writes an occasional blog (http://mindhacks.cn) on programming, effective learning, psychology, etc. for over a decade; A selected collection of his blog articles has been published (2011) as a well-received book named "Dark Time" (as in the dark matter).
