Good ideas are a reflection of fruitful experiences and as part of the TED community, my team and I aim to offer a platform to individuals who have ideas worth spreading.

As part of the Hub, I was encouraged to think about solutions for long-term work while also focussing on how day-to-day organisational activities could be made easier. The work environment instilled a sense of confidence and positivity in me to ask doubts and seek help when faced by an obstacle.Under the guidance of Project Manager Remy Shergill, I got a chance to send out interviews and edit copies for climate articles published in the Leader newspaper. My work experience as an editor was an asset for this role as it helped me communicate the topic of climate change in the most gripping yet concise way. As part of the Leader project, I also worked on expanding the list of businesses or organisations that are affected by climate change while also transcribing interviews. Thereafter, I worked on data collection for climate change reportage in Brisbane and worked on contacting and sending interviews to relevant businesses there for Quest newspaper.During the course of my internship, there was a steep rise in bushfires across the region which nudged the organisation to publish a report on Black Saturday and bushfire rise with relation to climate change. I worked with Communications Manager Stephanie Hall and Project Officer Tahnee Burgess for data collection of bushfire reporting and bushfire with relation to climate change reporting. The report focussed on media reporting and the tone of reporting, which helped me understand the different world views on climate change and the optimum ways to communicate about the same.As a media student, interning with the Hub pushed me to understand the audience better while helping me showcase my own communications skill set.
