I've been studying accounting since the spring of 2022. In the spring of 2023, I went on an internship in the Dominican Republic, where I got to work with a team to help small business owners. There, I was able to teach others the accounting concepts that I had been learning in the classroom. I loved being able to learn about everybody's specific business and how to best help each individual track their revenues and expenses, something that was a new concept for many of our clients. Having that experience reinforced my desire to help others in a business setting. While studying and applying accounting principles, both in the classroom and in the outside world, I've become proficient in Excel, learned the importance of financial accuracy and integrity, and developed an increased desire to help others.To help me achieve my goals, I will study for both the CPA and CFE certifications so I can achieve my career goal of being a forensic accountant. I'm currently looking for accounting positions related to either audit or forensics for the summer of 2025.
