Developed MPEG-DASH and HLS packager that works either as off-line CLI tool or as JIT http origin. The latter (implemented as apache or nginx module) allows live streaming ingest for media using fmp4 or mpeg2 transport stream containers. The ingested media is repackaged and stored on disk as CMAF. Besides live ingest and egress I designed and built live MPD capture and remix workflow related to nPVR archive.At the elementary streams level my main expertise is in subtitles. I implemented the iso/iec 14496-30 wvtt codec and transcode interop with textual WebVTT, TTML (imsc1) and cea 608 embedded captions. Other codecs I worked on are h264, AV1, AAC, AC3 and DTS-X. I played a minor role in DRM (buzzwords: Widevine, PlayReady, Fairplay, AES128, Common Encryption) and timed metadata (SCTE 35, CableLabs).Technologies: C++17, BASH, Python, Subversion, Jenkins, LXC/Incus, Docker, Linux, Windows, Intel/AMD and ARM.

Livewords, at the time, was small start up. We offered a Java-based SaaS product to internationalize existing websites. It comprised a reverse proxy that does just-in-time text substitution, a website crawler and a translation memory / management interface.We had a successful MVP when I joined, so my main contribution was to build out new features and professionalize the development process. I introduced test driven development concepts, created and ran a CI environment. Proceeded to automate the deployment process and set up service monitoring.Meanwhile in the code base, while building stuff, I added unit tests, DB migrations, integration tests. With seat belts in place, we could safely proceed refactoring for clarity, organizational separation or efficiency.I learned a bunch about front end development, Java, Javascript, XML and HTML.
