As a Mechanical Design Engineer, I develop CAD models for multi-disciplinary projects, analyze and evaluate projects to meet business standards, practices, and procedures to meet client and code requirements, NESC (National Electrical Safety Code), as well as local and state laws. Research and develop action plans to respond to a multitude of problems, recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection based on mechanical industry standards for design.Ensure design is complete, high quality, accurate, and in regulatory compliance, in addition, develop and verify the quality of engineering deliverables. While at Portland State Aerospace Society I designed, manufactured, and tested a liquid-powered rocket engine, while researching relevant fields in aircraft systems design, aerodynamic design to gain experience with turbines and fans.I designed several parts with strict mechanical properties, using CNC milling, a variety of tools in the fabrication shop, and 3D printed and post-processed to further test engine propulsion performance to hot fire and test rocket engines to reach the Karman line.As a final project, our team built a rocket engine test stand to safely deliver propellants to the engine at correct pressures and flow rates, pressurized gas systems, fluid systems.
