Handled the complete rebranding of Berkeley Heart Lab (BHL) after its acquisition by Quest Diagnostics. BHL retained its name and the goal became to establish a brand identity that was not a drastic departure from the current style as well as work in harmony with Quest Diagnostics brand standards. After establishing the new brand identity and style guide I focused primarily on creating all print collateral as well as re-designing old pieces, producing web-based interactive educational video series and designing trade show and conference support materials for both the medical professional community as well as Quest patients.

At Epitomics (acquired by Abcam) my role was often changing and evolving as a member of the small, do-it-all marketing team. I began by first working on small print pieces like flyers, mailers and tradeshow collateral. As the company grew I helped establish more consistent branding across all printed material as well as take on larger challenges such as designing the yearly published product catalog. My growing interest in web design aligned perfectly with the company's desire to increase its web presence. I spent more and more time with the IT department building pages, interactive modules, icons and graphics then eventually played a key role in a complete website redesign, much of which is still used today. Other first-time challenges I ran into at Epitomics was the design of large items, namely tradeshow booths, pull-up screens and big graphics, and product packaging design. Both were new to me but with some on the job training and the support of the marketing team I was able to produce quality work and establish skills that I still use everyday.

A continuation of research for the laboratory of Dr. Richard Stephens in the Department of Public Health at UC Berkeley. Research and projects included: assisting with the development of assays to quantify in vitro host cell infections, Developing custom antibodies using scFv technology and studying the effects of heparin sulfate on chlamydia host cell infections.

As a part of a protein therapy laboratory at Genzyme (acquired by Sanofi), I worked with a small group of researchers specializing in enzyme replacement therapeutics. One of my main projects during this time period was to develop a highly viable cell line for the expression of therapeutic proteins that could thrive in a serum-free growth medium.
