Now Chairman of JrnyOn Limited, Phil Otterson is the former Chairman of Abercrombie & Kent USA, the position he held prior to his semi-retirement. He was previously President of the company.Before joining Abercrombie & Kent USA, Phil was a founding partner of Cragmont Baron Group, LLC, a consulting firm that specialized in navigating travel management strategies to a broad range of travel & tourism industry organizations. Previously, Phil was affiliated with Tauck, an international tour operator based in Connecticut, for over 30 years. Before his retirement from Tauck, his responsibilities included overseeing Tauck’s strategic partnerships and establishing and maintaining the company’s external presence. Prior to that role, Phil oversaw all aspects of the company’s product operations and development.An active travel association participant, Phil has served on the National Tour Association and the American Tourism Society Board of Directors, where he was president, and the Steering Committee of the European Tour Operator’s Association. Phil was an active participant in the United States Tour Operator’s Association, Tourism Cares, and SKAL International. He was also an Associate Expert of the Tourism Intelligence Network of La Chaire de Tourisme de l'École des sciences de la gestion de l'Université du Québec à Montréal.Previously an educator of disabled children, and later a Teacher/Director at Vallemar Alternative School in Pacifica CA, Phil earned a BA degree from the University of San Francisco and an MA degree from San Francisco State University. He earned his Certified Travel Counselor designation from the Travel Institute, completed an executive leadership management course at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Business Management in Evanston, IL, and an executive course on organizational change at Columbia University’s Business School in New York. Phil has business experience working in over 120 countries around the world, and lives in Chicago, Illinois, Palm Springs, California, and Montréal, Québec.
