Using data collected by geologists at ISGS, along with LiDAR data acquired by ISGS, I worked on the GIS and basemap creation of the ISGS Statemap series for 2012, 2013, and a portion of 2014.• Created geologic maps in support of the USGS National Cooperative Geologic Mapping Program - Statemap component using ArcGIS software• Prepared geologic maps, columns, figures, and cross sections in Adobe Illustrator CS6 and formatted maps and components in InDesign CS6 for publication• Prepared documentation of GIS processes used in preparation of base map materials for geologic mapping• Compiled geodatabases and performed quality assurance checks to comply with a standardized data model for archived web distribution• Created the “Contour Accuracy Analysis” model using the ArcGIS Model Builder tool, which is used by geologists to test the accuracy of contours and their respective geologic units• Wrote instructional documents for GIS processes, such as how to create topographic contours from Lidar data and how to run the aforementioned model (instructional video was also made)
