Charlie has been working exclusively with GNULinux-based operating systems and security since 2000, with in depth experience with RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian, and SuSE in physical servers, virtual servers, and end-user workstations. Virtualization experience consists of managing both guest images and the underlying hypervisors in XEN (Proxmox, DO, and AWS) and VMWare/ESXi systems in stand-alone and HA setups.In addition to standard server application stacks, Charlie also has advanced knowledge in several BSD-based firewall appliances including PFSense, Mikrotik devices, and Untangle firewall appliances and virtual images. He also has working experience with BSD-based file servers providing iSCSI connections for hypervisors and AFP/SMB/NFS for workstation connectivity running on ZFS.Aside from appliance and server management, Charlie also has a good deal of experience with writing and maintaining elegant PHP web applications. The flagship application currently maintained is the Core Plus framework which powers many internal and public-facing applications and brochure web sites, (http://corepl.us).He is currently the CTO and lead developer at eVAL Agency, a Columbus-local consulting and security shop providing custom-tailored secure solutions to small and medium-sized businesses as well as local private universities.
