I started working for 4R Group in 2013 and have developed a wide range of skills over the past few years. The two many contracts I work on are recycling Potable Water Sludge and Biosolids back to agricultural land.In doing the role I have to build strong relationships with our clients and the farmers, I also deal with H&S, transport and the environmental impacts of carrying out this work.

During my time travelling, I secured a job with PeopleBrowsr. When I started with the company it employed 7 people and 2 ½ years later when I left it had over 50. Working with a start-up business gave me the opportunity to be spread over many aspects of the company, which presented challenges that needed fast learning. These challenges required me to be flexible, as I could be working with finance team and invoicing one minute and then be going to visit a client or going on a sales pitch the next.Independent problem solving - I have worked independently in many of my jobs and been in situations where no guidance was given. This was particularly prevalent during my time working remotely for PeopleBrowsr. This called on my initiative to find the right solution to problem and work creatively but it also taught me that I was responsible for checking the quality of my own work and manage my time effectively.

When I finished my university course, I successfully got a job at Virgin Media. At Virgin Media I was part of a team designed to educate the public and eliminate the use of online file sharing.After several weeks it became apparent that some new members of the team where having issues with the work, this is when my manager asked if I could be a link between the new team members and himself so that I could deal with any problems before they got to him. This showed me that my manger had confidence in my work but also he trusted me to help and lead other team members with their problems.Organisation and Time Management - Being responsible for my team meant that I had to make sure that the team and I were organised, efficient and worked in order to reach our deadlines and quotas. This showed me how to best priorities work with my schedule and other peoples

During my university placement I worked as part of a large IT team that was in charge of all technology throughout the RHM Group. Working in a large national company meant that I travelled to their many offices across the country, which involved working away from home and working with new people on a regular basis. Acting as second and third line IT support to thousands of users meant I was responsible for a range problems from fixing PCs to the implementation of companywide IT projects, this meant I was constantly developing new ways to solve these problems; many of which were business critical and time sensitive. Communication - Communication via phone, email, meetings, face-to-face and conference calls were needed frequently in PeopleBrowsr and RHM as we had offices all over the world. This taught me many valuable communication techniques and how to adapt my style of communication depending on the person; whether it be a supplier, customer or employee.
