The P.O.W.E.R.House of Expression empowers each client through the use of their own higher self and creative energy to take back their lives, reach their goals and live more abundantly. We focus on individuals of all ages living with social, cognitive, physical, emotional and/or spiritual needs from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Domestic Violence and/or Substance Abuse. We provide our clients with opportunities for healing through Movement, Music, Art, Drama, the Spoken Word and Sandbox/Sand-tray Therapy coupled with Mental Health Counseling to improve health and well being. We also offer Yoga, Reiki, Acupuncture and Essential Oil Therapy for a more Holistic approach to healing. We seek to improve lives by integrating mind, body and spirit to attain peace and fulfillment of purpose.

Attended and participate in all classes and internships. I am no longer a student at Pratt. After a Medical Leave I decided to open the PowerHouse of Expression. I still work with Expressive Therapies.

Intake Specialist/Substance Abuse Counselor. Duties include: • Welcome new clients, initiate and complete assessments, intake procedures and documentation.• Carried small caseload, write treatment plans, progress notes, individual, group and case notes in client files. • Supervise and document urine toxicologies.• Facilitate groups, i.e. 822, prevention, pre-anger management, anger management, women’s issues, groups for orientation, and core issues. • Counseled clients individually as needed. • Crisis intervention.• Data entry, schedule appointments and outreach/advocate for clients as needed. • Held emergency phone for crisis intervention calls 24/7.• Discharge clients with/without referrals to higher level of care. • Obtain authorizations and referrals for higher level of care. • Perform all Twelve Core Functions of treatment. • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
