CLIENT: Transport ScotlandCo-ordinate and manage the Trunk Road Operating Company Contract for road maintenance. Deliver high-quality contract management, contractor management, and maintenance of the 3500-km-long trunk road network, which has 6000 structures. This £20 billion asset is the Scottish Government’s largest asset, and the safe and efficient operation is fundamental to delivering road development, sustainable road infrastructure, and economic growth.⇨ Oversee the Operating Company, which manages and maintains the trunk road network. ⇨ Respond to consequences of critical or major issues 24/7; ensure restoration of normal operation and brief Scottish Government Ministers and the media. ⇨ Deliver annual budget financial management of Operating Company Contract and development of best financing for planning and management of contract. ⇨ Assess asset management methodology and performance; ensure maximum value for money and asset management best practice. ⇨ Evaluate and assess risks; balance risks against desired outcomes and engage specialists when required. Interpret trends and manage risks to ensure that the direction of the Directorate is correct. ⇨ Resolve commercial, contractual, and measurement issues with Operating Company. ⇨ Work with stakeholders; deliver joined-up services and efficient contract management for seamless integration of structural maintenance and improvement projects into mainstream operations.⇨ Act as customer service advocate; engage with service users, communities, and business groups. ⇨ Deal with complex communications; meet with and deal with correspondence from the Scottish and UK Governments on constituency matters.⇨ Direct and collaborate with independent Performance Audit Group; involved in reviews and audits.⇨ Contribute to project meetings and workshops.
