I'm currently working as a counselling psychologist, trainee special educator and coordinator at Mārga. I have also worked as a school counsellor at B.D.M. International School, Kolkata where I catered to the counselling needs of students from classes VI to VIII. I am pursuing my B.Ed in Special Education under the RCI Registered Distance Mode Course. I am competent in utilizing search engines to research on topics, more specifically to my field of work and interest. I prefer to widely research to find out the most reliable information available. Other than my career, I like to eat, listen to music, and solve sudoku for relaxation. Sometimes, I also resort to casual mandala and pattern coloring. I want to utilize my learning and skills and apply them in the field to build on my strengths and benefit the society. My job profile as a school counsellor currently is to cater to counselling needs of students from classes VI to VIII. I also conduct awareness based programmes and psychoeducation of students on mental health concerns and life skills related topics.I also conduct parent meetings to ensure that the student's overall performance is observed and progress is maintained at home as well, and to have the parents on the same page with regard to the student's concern. The focus is majorly to keep up their performances in academics as well as their co-curricular activities, while also ensuring that they pursue activities that they enjoy doing.

At Marga, I got to work as a trainee special educator. My job role was to act as a facilitator for children having special needs, and catering to not only their functional and academic needs, but also to co-curricular areas. Starting from planning for the session to executing the sessions, I got fruitful exposure to work with kids, which added on to my experience. A major self-realization that happened as a part of my association with Marga is that I would enjoy working in an environment surrounded with children. I also got to host an event at Marga as an emcee which was a major achievement for me.
