Seeking short term network security projects on Cisco ASA, Cisco ACS, Cisco ISE, Fortigates, Palo Alto, Juniper, Blue Coat or Checkpoint.

Provide service to assigned clients to ensure that their IT infrastructure and systems remain operational through investigating and resolving technical incidents and problems and to restore service to clients by managing incidents to resolution. Primary objective is to ensure zero missed service level agreement conditions. Provides support and deals with incidents of medium complexity. Provides on-site, remote or telephonic support and fault diagnosis to clients by troubleshooting incidents to ensure service levels are restored according to SLA requirements. Investigate all support calls assigned to them to identify the root cause of incidents and problems. Ensure the efficient and comprehensive resolution of these calls through defining solutions to incidents. Report and escalate issues to 3rd party vendors and other stakeholders if necessary. Full ownership for managing the incident to resolution within the service level conditions. When required contribute to other managed service processes such as change control administration, problem management and release management. Provide continuous feedback to clients and affected parties and update all systems and/or portals as prescribed by Dimension Data procedures. Ensure that assigned infrastructure at the client site is configured, installed, tested and operational. In this regard they will perform necessary checks, apply monitoring tools and respond to alerts. Identify problems and errors prior to or when they occur. Log all such incidents in a timely manner with the required level of detail with all the necessary. Required to strictly comply with all processes and procedures as prescribed by Dimension Data and the client when relevant Coach and contribute to the training of Level 1 Engineers

Part of a team responsible for maintaining VMware servers, Cisco UCS Servers and the ASR5000 in a large scale testing lab The servers run Debian and Red Hat Linux used as a test bed for Starent QA testers. Responsibilities included installation and testing of new servers (physical and virtual) and troubleshooting user issues.

Provide consulting for clients Solaris and Windows Systems. Consult customers on best networking practices. Advising clients appropriate network (Cisco), network security(CheckPoint, Cisco ASA or PIX), network monitoring equipment and software (HP/Openview, MRTG)

Maintained clients firewalls(Checkpoint FW, Checkpoint NG, Cisco PIX, Cisco ASA), Cisco IDS and BlueCoat Proxy,, and troubleshooting issues with the Solaris, Nokia systems, and Cisco Routers and Switches.

Maintained CiscoSecure ACS (TACACS+, Radius), Steel-Belted Radius, Provided Tier III support for the business units Solaris and Windows Servers and workstations.

Provide Tier III Support for deployed Solaris systems. These systems provided DNS, Access (Radius) and configuration information for Solaris based telcomm equipment. Provided engineering support for new customers.

Provided consulting for clients Solaris and Windows Systems. Consulted customers on best networking practices. Advising clients on appropriate network (Cisco), and network security(CheckPoint, Cisco ASA or PIX) software and equipment.

Provided customer support for Cisco’s network management software (CiscoWorks 2000), integration with 3rd party software tools such as HP/Openview, Tivoli Netview and CA/Unicenter. Supported SNMP on all Cisco Routers and Switches. Acted as SME for Solaris and HP/UX.

Installed large scale production servers (Solaris, V880), testing (Solaris, V440) and development (Solaris, V220) servers for GE Financials. Production system included a 20 Terrabyte EMC disk array, and 4 V880 setup as a Sun Cluster.

Acted as SME for the business units HP-UX Servers. This included setting up and maintaining MC/ServiceGuard, DNS, and NIS. Upgraded systems from HP-UX 9 to HP-UX 10

Acted as SME for the business units HP-UX Servers. This included setting up and maintaining MC/ServiceGuard, DNS, and NIS. Provided Tier III support for internal HP-UX workstations. Maintained the business units Solaris based documentation system
