In my previous position I worked for five years as a lab technician for Irish Asphalt who are part of the Lagan Group. This company produces Asphalt Concrete for major and minor construction projects throughout the country. My daily duties included implementation of the company’s Quality and Environmental system; this would include the correct sampling and testing of coated and unbound materials to specific standards and the constant review of these results. At the time I had two other lab personnel under my supervision and I reported directly to the Technical Director of the company on a weekly basis. I was also involved in on site investigation and on site testing of materials and liaising with clients and inspectors. During my time at Irish Asphalt I worked on various major infrastructure projects including LUAS, Dublin Port Tunnel, Dundalk to Newry Bypass and the Kinnegad Bypass.
