Appointed Manager of the Carlow Kilkenny Energy Agency now 3cea in September 2012.Previous Member of board of SEAICurrently Vice President of IRBEA. Board member of IRBEA and Irish Wind Farmers association. The vision for the 3 Counties Energy Agency is to create a sustainable employer in the non profit (NGO) space within the Carlow Kilkenny and Wexford area. By developing and implementing Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy projects in the region that deliver long term sustainability to the local economy removing the dependence on increasing cost of imported fossil fuels while delivering reductions in CO2 in line with the National Climate Change strategy. The 3CEA is working in partnership with local authorities in Carlow, Wexford and Kilkenny to implement Energy Map (ISO 50001) energy management programme to achieve 33% reduction in energy consumption on a per head of capita served basis. €27m investment in energy efficiency in 5 years since 2013 with 57% in private sector SME.The 3CEA is also working with the local rural development bodies to deliver sustainable community development projects for the region. Assisting the fight against depopulation by creating sustainable jobs in the rural hinterland through Wind, Solar, Hydro and energy demand reduction projects.I as manger hope to build on progress made by enabling large energy consumers and renewable energy developers to develop, finance, implement, measure and certify kWh reduction/generation towards 2020 targets and beyond. Experience in both demand reduction and renewable energy production are key to me helping 3CEA to continue its valuable independent role as trusted intermediary between prosumer and supplier to develop into a real facilitator within the south east region towards €500m investment by 2025 in energy sector.
