About Partha Pratim Mandal, Ph.D
I love to solve problems intriguing to subsurface rock and its multiscale characterization from hard rocks to deep sedimentary rocks. Whenever visiting remote parts of the country, I am just amazed by looking at rock structures and find it fascinating to collect them. That curiosity further deepens me to think about the application of geophysical techniques (potential field, core logging, borehole logging, laboratory experiment, etc) to characterize the rock from multiple angles. This led to inspiring me to do higher degree research at WASM, Curtin University where I define the problem, identify necessary geophysical tools, optimize core sampling, perform experiments, and analyze data for industrial applications. I worked and interned with multiple companies and universities in different geophysical, data analytics, software testing, project management, volunteering, and mentoring roles. My professional, personal, and research portfolio brings out the following about myself:I can build a product solution from scratch and make it market-ready.• I can identify gaps and shortcomings of the existing products• I can analyze risk and potential challenges• I make decisions based on available data rather than gut feelingsI can become a communicator of a wider audience of an organization through visuals and punchlines.• I identify the topic• Try to explain a school student• Find information to fill the gaps• Reorganize, review, and convey I educate, collaborate, and adjust myself to be a better human • I am a constant learner, never settle down• I deliver speeches to younger students at school • I remain focused and strong in an adverse situation• I learn from mistakes and improve furtherI always meet people from diverse backgrounds and hear a different perspective of life. Reach out if you want to discuss science communication, geoscientific innovations, and mentoring.Professional skillsRock Characterization | Core Sampling | Petrophysics & Rock Mechanics | Borehole and surface Geophysics | Teaching & Training | Team Building | Product Development | Laboratory setup | Science Communication | Predictive Model Building | Collaboration | Advisory Board | Teaching Material CreationDomain knowledgeNatural Rocks | Climate Change | Software Development | Digital Marketing | Non-profit Organization | Website Creation
