Live broadcasting is in my veins and I've been doing it for nearly 20 years. I direct and produce TV shows, live events, podcasts and radio programmes that reach millions of people around the world. I'm known for being calm under pressure. I adore working in studios with multiple cameras and large crews but you'll also find me travelling the world directing single-camera documentaries on location. I love making shows to entertain and inform audiences. I specialise in science, technology, climate change and in resources for those learning English as a second language. My clients include BBC World News, BBC Studios, BBC Culture, BBC Learning English, BBC World Service, BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 1, Pearson Education, Private Eye Magazine, Save The Children, Press Association, Water Aid and the Open University. I direct and produce BBC Click Live - the live and interactive version of the BBC's global technology TV show. Working closely with the Click team, I have had the pleasure of bringing Click’s live technology demonstrations to audiences in London, Cambridge, Dublin, Dundee, Glasgow and India. Skills & Experience: - Experienced Director of live and pre-recorded TV programmes, webcasts and live events. - Accomplished producer, director, writer and editor of long-form documentaries for BBC TV and radio. - I thrive under the pressure of live production - with the proven ability to remain calm and focused. - Excellent record of team leadership on location, in the studio, in the gallery and on stage. - Extensive experience of working in all major departments including editorial team, lighting, sound, cameras, floor management, production management. - More than 18 years professional experience of producing and directing presenters and guests. - Extensive production management skills to plan and execute all aspects of complex domestic and international shoots (including budgets, risk assessments, contracts, visas, travel etc). - Seasoned in all aspects of location work as director, camera operator (FS7, C300, FX6, GoPro), lighting director, interviewer and sound operator. - Creative and efficient script writer and script editor in my native English. - Developing Dutch language skills (Level B2). - Excellent time management and organisational skills. - Excellent client and stakeholder relationship management. - Expert user of Adobe CC Suite (Premiere, AE, Illustrator etc.). - I’m calm, professional and creative.
