I am a Senior Research Fellow (Ph.D.) in the Department of Atmospheric Science at IIT Delhi. My research is mainly focused on Applied Mathematics and Mathematical modeling, Boundary layer meteorology, Numerical weather prediction and Climate modeling, Surface and Boundary layer Parameterizations, Uncertainty quantification, Parameter calibration, and Dynamical downscaling, Microphysics schemes.I have experience in climate models (e.g., CMIP5 GCMs, RCMs etc.) as well as NWP models (e.g., WRF), ensemble analysis, uncertainty quantification, bias correction/downscaling methods, climate impact assessments, statistical analysis. Ability to work with large, multi-dimensional data (e.g, netCDF, GRIB files). Experience with python (Xarray, wrf-python package, NumPy, Pandas), climate data operator (CDO), netCDF Operators (NCO), NCAR Command Language (NCL), MatLab and R-Studio. High Performance Computing (HPC), Linux with PGI and Intel Compilers.Ph.D. Project : To improve the performance of numerical weather prediction and general circulation model by modifying/updating certain parameterization schemes based on recent theoretical development and perform sensitivity analysis and parameter calibration specifically over the Indian region. Currently, dealing with Surface and Boundary Layer Parameterizations of WRF and NCAR-CAM5 models and analyzing the impact of different functional forms of stability correction functions under stable and convective stratifications in bulk flux algorithm and try to reduce the present model biases in simulating surface turbulent fluxes, certain near surface variables over the Indian subcontinent.
