He is the CEO of his consulting firm "VISION-IPR" offering services in management of IPR and knowledge management. His clients span from Governments for policy matters, Academic Institutions, and Corporate Houses for integrated IPR management of innovations. He is a leading international expert on IPR and a Consultant to the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) for IPR capacity building programmes. He is an elected Fellow of the Maharashtra Academy of Sciences. After several years in academic research, he worked in industry for 2 decades in diverse managerial roles including R&D, Technology Assessment, Forecasting and Transfer, Knowledge Management, Factory Management and Business Planning. He was MHRD IPR Chair Professorship at Tezpur University, Assam , India from 2012 to 2017 and Visiting Professor at he Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law, IIT Kharagpur. He is Member of the Board of of the Intellectual Property Law Practitioners Association (IPLPA) in India. He was Adjunct Faculty in Institute of Technology, Jodhpur till July 2024. He continues to be a member of the Board of Governors of the Vishwakarma University, Pune. He is Honorary Professor in the Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI) of the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. He is honorary adviser to the Jodhpur City Knowledge and Innovation Foundation (JCKIF). He is Distinguished Honorary Professor at the Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya, Vadodara. He was as Honorary Scientific Consultant on Innovation and IPR Matters to the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser, Government of India from 2003 to 2017. He is associated with the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser, as Chairman of the RuTAG Expert Committee. His work on GI Value Chain is used as a model for socio-economic and cluster development. For outstanding contribution in the field of Intellectual Property,in February 2011 he was awarded "The Chemtech Pharma-Bio World Award 2011, in August, 2014 he was given "The Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions in the field of IPR" by "LEGAL ERA" in India, in October 2014 The Tata Institute of fundamental Research Alumni Association gave him the Excellence Award for his work on Intellectual Property Rights, Information Security and Knowledge Management, in 2020. The Global Intellectual Property Convention honoured him with the GIPC Award 2020, in November 2023, “Legal Era” honoured him in the category of “IP Legends” as the IP Strategist of the Year 2023".
