I am the HSSE Head for IOT Group Of companies which includes Upatream , Down stream and EPC SBUs.Reporting to Managing Director IOT and Group Director HSSE Oiltanking Hamburg.HSSE Head Corporate Responsible and accountable for All IOT SBUs. IOT SBUs include Terminalling, EPC and Seismic.IOT is a 50:50 joint venture of IOC And Oiltanking Germany. IOT has its EPC business spread across Turkey,Oman,Fujairah,jakarta, kalimanthan, karimun(indonesia) besides india.The EPC activities involve construction of Flammable storage tanks as per API 650.,offsite and utilities, boiler erection involving heights up to 100 meters,developing the site specific HSSE plans , procedures and systems are designed under my guidance.I am directly involve in projecting IOTs HSSE reputation to the client.Besides, the responsibilities include:A) setting up, leading and developing HSSE management system in all locations-- terminals, project and Seismic sites.B) To generate HSSE KPIs for all SBUS after consultation with the SBU Heads and Approval by Mannaging Director. c) Educating all terminal, project and Seismic heads in IOT HSSE management systems and persuade them to achieve their HSSE KPIs for the year.d)To give HSSE presentations in annual Oiltanking HSSE meeting held in europe and discuss the learnings amongst all IOT SBUs. e)To conduct HSSE meetings of all RCMs and Terminal heads for discussing HSSE. f)To raise the safety culture awareness amongst all terminals & construction sites by conductung safety surveys &continuous trainings. g)Designing and implementing IOT HSSE management systems LIKE mandatory HSSE elements, Take 5 for safety, terminal & Project self assessment, STOP cards,HAZOB cards Educating all sites and subsequently get them certified for OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001i)implementing in all sites HSSE tools like LOTO, Safe work permit system, Management of change, hazard identification and risk assessments, hearts and minds, just culture,root cause analysis,Bow tie diagrams.

The Academy runs the Following courses recognized by the govt. Firemen courses----Four batches in an year fire-Officers' course – one batch in an year Specialised trainings for Municipal Corporations Specialised trainings for Industries.The Sub- fire officers' course is accredited by London Fire Service College UK.The Academy also holds various seminars jointly with The Gujarat State DisasterManagement Authority, IFE (India) etc.I was wholly looking after the training aspects of the Academy, which includes lectures,Drills etc. during the tenure , organised many statelevel seminars and was speaker inall of them.The short term training course modules have been devised by me and the whole trainingincluded my full participation and responsibility . Coordinated and started the Batchesfrom Royal Butanese govt as well..I am one of the writers of one of the course module on Industrial Safety & fire servicesdesigned for National institute of open schooling, Govt of India , Delhi for National fireAcademy.During my tenure in the NFA as Dy. Director training, the Academy reached its all time peakwith the president ofAIILSG praising me from time to time and the Director General Praising me in writing.Involved in imparting short term training to various industries like Hindalco IndustriesLimited, Gulbrandsen ChemicalsPvt. Ltd , DCM Sriram Alkalies & chemicals LTD, Apollo Tyres ,Bayer India etc.During my tenure, I arranged and trained two batches of security officers from Bhutan tooin the field of HSSE. Fought successfully the sulphur fires including a dust explosion and rescued two workers.My responsibilities as Second in command in the Fire & Safety Dept included Keeping all records pertaining statutory regulations. Handled 103 firemen, 10 fire safety officers and five fire tenders..Liasioning with the factory inspectorate and neighboring companies for mutual aid.Attending ship duties ( Sulphur, Phosphoric acid, Rock Phosphate , Ammonia) and liasioning with the dock safety officer for the safe unloading of the cargo.Investigating the fires and accidents generating Safety Alerts.Organising HSSEmeetings ,Signing the safe work permit, maintenance of all fire fighting equipment, imparting training to all employs with regards to the property use of B.A. Sets, fire extinguishers, and follow up of the safe work practices, use of the explosimeter, gas detectors. Operation & maintenance of sprinklers system, fire alarm system, airline trolleys, B.A. Sets and B.A.Compressor.conducted HAzard and Operability studies with the commissioning team.Giving time bound solutions to the management on Fire safety related issues. Developed the on-site emergency plan and plant safety manual. well versed with Hazop studies, Hazan, Damage minimisation and control which includes containment, fire protection and other measures including emergency planning, Conducting and participating in the mockdrills once in six months.

Finished Product : PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) 13,0000 TPA Hazardous materials handled : Ethylene, EDC, VCM, LPG, ChlorineThe plant produces two grades of PVC viz SPVC & EPVC by polymerization of VCM (Vinyl Chloride Monomer), which is produced by cracking of EDC (Ethylene Di Chloride) in a cracking furnace at 500 deg. c. Here 50% of the EDC gets converted into VCM. In the oxyhydrochlorination reactor, the HCL formed and the Ethylene Reacts to produce furtherEDC. The VCM is polymerized in the reactors in SPVC plant. The reaction being exothermic, there is the provision of adding TBC (Tertiary Butyl Catechol) in the reactors in case of a run away reaction to prevent any disaster.Incharge of the fire station for the shift in the petrochemical complex. Responsible for the first turnout vehicle (fire tender) . Responsible and accountable for the upkeep of fire tenders, fixed firefighting installAtions including fire hydrants, monitors, foam pourers, deluge valves, medium velocity water spray systems, high velocity water spray systems, fire detection system including smoke detectors, fire alarm systems.Besides, i was given additional responsibility in construction safety of jetty, cryogenic Ethylene and LPG tanks,pressurised bullets, and LPG loading gantry. Responsible to impart Auxiliary fire squad training (AFS), Refreshers training, B.A. Set training to all employees and certificates were awarded to those who had successfully completed the training.Involved in the commissioning of the fire protection system for the cryogenic LPG storage tanks, LPG bullets and tanker loading gantry per the TAC rules, NFPA codes.Conducting the daily Hydrant, pump, ladder, B.A. Set drills of the fire crew.Job responsibilities as making the yearly budget, ensuring minimum inventory of fire fighting and safety equipment in the stores.Besides checking the availability of the safe work permit with the person at job.
