"DATA MANAGEMENT FRAMEWORK FOR AUTOMOTIVE- a DIAGNOSTIC AND PROGNOSTIC SOLUTION"Project’s primary purpose is to diagnose for all the data from the sensors and provide a framework. The product also support’s custom based analysis which would help analysts to give a prognostic solution. Domain experts from different domains(Embedded System, Automotive, Dataware Housing) guided me to reach this projects goal, which acted as the proof of concept for the organization.The diagnostic Solution is for DIY, Performance enthusiasts, Home mechanics, Professional Technicians and Service Station.The prognostic Solution is particularly for the OEMs, the UI helps the analysts to make a root cause analysis of DTC.Few Use cases Of the Prognostic solutions Tried and tested with the field data.1) Identifying unusual behavior of the engine, by monitoring engine temperature and performing statistical data analysis.2) Predicting Faulty components Or Components requiring further development to increase fault tolerance. This can be achieved through, a) Analyzing DTC’s registered over a period of time for a specified model. b) Comparison of DTC’s between different models of same manufacturer. c) Comparison of DTC’s for different model year vehicles of same type.Technologies Used---Development on Windows Platform.• C programming in Code Warrior IDE: to send the bytes from OBD scanner to PC via RS232.• MFC Application to capture and parse the data received on the Serial port of PC.• SQL Server 2005 as a server for entire product.• SSIS – bcp utility for bulk insert into database from text file.• Web User Interface developed using ASP.Net (acts as application server) with C# coding and hosted on web server-IIS Server.• RUBIC(Proprietary)- Component for graphing and charting is used. Fusion charts –Third Party component, which expects data feed in XML format and execution of stored procedures.• SQL/ PLSQL- Accessing database and for RUBIC Component.
