Realized during the end of 2nd year in college that Electronics wasn't my cup of coffee. Not that I hated it, I just couldn't compete with other people out there. The reason being I studied things only from an exam perspective all the way from my school days to freshman year in college.Stumbled upon Digital Marketing during 3rd year and the next 1 year I went into a beast mode. Right from courses which started for $9 all the way till $497, I bought of all them and increased my knowledge in my each area.The next big step in Digital Marketing - Implementation. Got placed in IT companies (Cognizant and Wipro as Programmer Analyst) and I took a strong decision that I wouldn't go there. Started my career in 3Ding ( 3D Printing company in Chennai) as a sole Digital Marketer and had both positive as well as negative critics for the work that I did. The journey was incredible there, and it was more like a family with all the 3 different sets of people that I mingled with ( the last set being my favorite). I worked there from May 2016 to July 31st, 2017.Applied to the CRO Guy (Rebranded as Convertica) for an apprenticeship program, was put on a waiting list and after few days got selected.We handle Conversion Rate Optimization ( CRO ) for Affiliate, Lead Generation & E-Commerce websites. After working 6-8 months on CRO for Affiliate websites, I moved into a full time marketing position. I mainly deal with Outreach and Paid Marketing to drive leads.Life is good. A good boss who respects the work that I do as well as great amount of freedom. Not but not the least, the connections that I am going to get when I am working here might also play a significant role in shaping my future.After 2 years and 6 months working with Convertica, I resigned from my job in Jan 2020 (FT till Oct 2019 and PT till Jan 2020) to pursue a Master's degree in Marketing Analytics at the University of Maryland (Robert H. Smith School of Business).Down the line, I hope to run a digital marketing business on my own and travel the world to attend conferences and masterminds to stay updated on the current trends.
