My Bachelors & Masters education followed by Ph.D training has given me an unique combination & perfect mix of chemistry, biochemistry & biotechnology to solve any problems in the field of biotechnology. All processes/applications in biotechnology are based on interaction between molecules that can only be explained by chemistry & biochemistry. Using chemistry as my strength I have been able to solve problems over a period of 24 years starting from my Ph.D till date. I have utilized my learnings and have been answering questions thrown at me from a wide range of topics in applied biotechnology involving molecular biology, microbiology & biochemistry. My extensive 6 years of doctoral and 18 years of post doctoral/industry training has given me immense exposure and experience in DNA, RNA and protein chemistry, characterization and heterologous protein expression across E.coli, yeast systems, Bacillus systems. Purification of proteins using both conventional as well as affinity based methodologies has given me expertise and confidence to take on any new challenges. Besides I have been equally well versed with enzyme assays covering both biochemical as well other bioassay systems across these 18 years. My tenure at DuPont as a regulatory scientist has helped me to include Good Laboratory Practices, honing leadership skills & other skills relevant to regulatory sciences to complement my molecular biology skills that will help me contribute in any field including discovery, regulatory and molecular characterization leading from the front.
