Built a web app with react.js & mobile app with react native backed by a scalable node.js based GraphQL API hosted on AWS. The product serves a peer to peer marketplace of providers, connecting them with consumers.

In this role, managed all of Stamps.com software development, program management, and quality assurance functions, working with Product Management, Customer Care, and Marketing to understand business needs to design and implement solutions. Key results achieved: Improved system uptime to 99.99%, increased release frequency, modernized the architecture and stack to enable agility and scalability to accommodate increased growth and support high growth velocity. Some highlights by area:Technology and uptime:- Addressed uptime and engineering risk by migrating server infrastructure from legacy technologies to a modern technology stack, implementing and rolling out changes in a gradual manner, to avoid disruption to customers and partners.- Improved testing quality and efficiency using a combination of risk-based testing and automated regression test suites that were built with C#, Soap UI, Groovy and Ruby Watir.Process engineering:- Championed Agile frameworks like Scrum and Kanban and managed the rollout and implementation, by reviewing implementation on an ongoing basis and tweaking it as necessary to achieve the desired outcome. The successful implementation of Scrum resulted in better morale, better quality and better control of project direction and scope.- Developed and implemented a process of parallel development to better utilize developers on teams that weren’t yet ready for SCRUM.- Designed processes and tooling to enable biweekly and monthly releases on web and server, with significant features that have helped increased revenue significantly in the last two years.- Implemented automated testing for the web and server teams, enabling better quality in a more resource efficient manner and helped reduce technical debt over a period of time.Management:- Expanded the dev. management team by adding two first-time managers.- Developed performance metrics for development managers, program management, and QA.

Identified and promoted technical members to become first time managers and coached them to become successful managers. Implemented a velocity based metric to measure weekly progress against goals. Worked with PM and QA directors to streamline development processes.Hands on involved with the design, and production troubleshooting.

As a lead developer on various projects for a few months led the design and development of server technologies at Stamps.com using C++/Win32, C++/CLI/C#/.NET and SQL server..Then as the Server Team Software Development Manager, took on talent management and handling engineering reports. Expanded the team 80%, increased productivity and release frequency by over 300% and delivered on many key and time critical projects. Such increase in team size and productivity was achieved through a combination of excellent hiring practices that considered the technical and behavioral aspects of candidates; individualized coaching and motivation of team members; software process engineering that enabled parallel development.

Design & development of new features for Trade Processor, ITG's trading server component for the Triton product, including making Trade Processor 24x6 capable by:- Code optimizations to achieve higher throughput.- Analyzing and addressing memory fragmentation and usage issues.- Redesigning and reimplementing the data access layer.

Worked on 3 different product development efforts on the the Win16 and Win32 platforms.Started out as a developer on a code less RAD tool development project, and moved up to the role of a team lead, leading the design and development of a consumer product.
